Walk through the Ubud Monkey Forest
with a local guide

This product includes an entrance ticket to Ubud’s Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary and a walking tour with a local guide. The walk inside the sanctuary takes about 1 hour, and depending on the option you can meet at the sanctuary entrance, meet at Ubud Palace, or travel with round-trip transfers from hotels in Ubud or central Bali. Bottled water is provided, and your guide explains the monkeys, the forest and the Tri Hita Karana philosophy that helps preserve the park.

Walk the jungle where monkeys play

Meet your guide at the main gate, walk along a pond of colorful koi and pass through an ornate gate where groups of macaques gather. Beyond a cave-like entrance lies a forest of huge trees, where you can see long-tailed macaques eating and playing, and mothers carrying their babies.

See banyan trees, the dragon bridge and mossy statues

Cross the dragon bridge with its banyan trees and ancient temple. In the dense forest where little sunlight gets through, moss-covered relics and statues create a mysterious atmosphere.

Visit the forest temples Pura Beji and Pura Dalem Agung

Walk down the steps to Pura Beji, an old bathing temple beside a stream, then continue to Pura Dalem Agung Padangtegal, a 14th-century site built for village funeral ceremonies. Many monkeys gather here too, so you can take photos with them.
