Sapa Fansipan Summit Day Trek Private Tour - Picnic Lunch Included

Hike to the summit of Fansipan,
the roof of Indochina, in one day

This private day trek picks you up from your hotel in Sapa town and takes you from Tram Ton Pass to the summit of Fansipan and back. You walk about 12 km each way, about 24 km in total, gaining roughly 1,600-1,700 m in elevation, and the whole trek takes 10-12 hours. An English-speaking guide accompanies you, and a picnic lunch, 1.5 liters of water per person, entrance fees (with medal and certificate) and insurance are included. This is a very challenging route suited to fit and experienced hikers.

Start the jungle trek at dawn
from Tram Ton Pass

At 5:30-6:00 AM, a driver picks you up at your hotel in Sapa town and takes you to Tram Ton Pass at about 2,000 m (solo travelers travel by scooter). From here you start the climb through bamboo forest and old-growth forest with colorful flowers and beautiful streams. Lunch is a picnic carried by your guide, eaten at a campsite at 2,800 m.

Take in the sea of clouds
and mountain ridges from the summit

Depending on your pace, you reach the summit around 12:30-1:00 PM. Take photos with the mountains of Vietnam and China in the background, and rest while enjoying views of deep valleys and the sea of clouds. You can also visit the temples, Buddha statues and seasonal flower gardens near the summit.

Walk down or
take the cable car

To descend, either walk back the same way to Tram Ton Pass and return to Sapa by car or motorbike, or ride the cable car down. The cable car is optional and you need to buy the ticket yourself. Taking the cable car, you arrive in Sapa around 2:00-4:00 PM; walking down, you arrive around 5:00-6:00 PM (depending on your pace).
