Walk hidden mountain trails away from the crowds on a 2-day trek with a Hmong woman guide who was born and raised in Sapa. In the evening, stay at your guide’s family home, a traditional Hmong house in Ban Pho Village, where you cook together in a cooking class and share dinner. On day 2, trek through bamboo forests and past hidden waterfalls to Giang Ta Chai before returning to Sapa town.

Walk Sapa’s hidden trails with a Hmong guide
and stay overnight in a traditional home
This 2-day trek starts in central Sapa and follows village trails away from the crowds. Your Hmong guide, who grew up in a small village in the Muong Hoa Valley about 9 km from Sapa, leads you along the paths she has walked all her life, past ancient villages, rice terraces and valleys.
You spend the night at her family’s traditional Hmong house in Ban Pho Village and enjoy a cooking class, a handicraft experience and photos in traditional clothing. All meals from lunch on day 1 to lunch on day 2 are included.
Trek through Lao Chai’s rice terraces and Hmong villages

Leave Sapa Park and the crowds behind and walk past valleys and rice terraces where local families still farm the traditional way. After lunch at a local restaurant in Lao Chai, continue toward the mountains.
Along the way, your guide shares stories about Hmong traditions, beliefs, festivals and daily life. Meet women making traditional textiles with hemp, natural indigo and embroidery, and try Hmong handicrafts yourself. Take photos in traditional clothing and receive a handmade copper bracelet as a souvenir.
Cook together and stay overnight at a homestay in Ban Pho

In the late afternoon, arrive at your guide’s family homestay, a traditional Hmong house in Ban Pho Village. Cook mountain dishes with the family in a cooking class and share stories around the dinner table. You can also taste happy water, the local rice wine.
Large luggage is transported to the homestay separately, so you only need to carry a small backpack while trekking.
Pass bamboo forests and hidden waterfalls to Giang Ta Chai

After breakfast on day 2, trek along trails linking nearby valleys, bamboo forests, hidden waterfalls and villages. Have lunch at a local restaurant in Giang Ta Chai, return to Ban Pho to collect your luggage, then ride back to Sapa town and get off near the Stone Church.
※ The trek covers about 18–22 km over 2 days, including mountain paths, uneven trails and rice terrace paths.
※ Rice terrace scenery and weather vary by season and conditions.
