Walk through rice terraces and minority villages
and spend a night at a Ta Van homestay
This 2-day trek starts at 9:00 AM in front of the Sapa Stone Church (Notre Dame Cathedral), where you meet your local English-speaking guide. Day one covers about 10–13 km (5–7 hours) through Y Linh Ho, Lao Chai and Ta Van; day two covers about 8–10 km (3–4 hours) around Giang Ta Chai before returning to Sapa by car or motorbike. Four meals (2 lunches, 1 dinner, 1 breakfast) and village entrance fees are included.
Pass Y Linh Ho and the Hmong village of Lao Chai

After a short introduction, trek down into Y Linh Ho village. Follow mountain paths between rice terraces and traditional houses, take a short break in the village for a drink, then continue to Lao Chai, one of the largest and oldest Hmong villages in the Sapa area.
In Lao Chai, enjoy a Vietnamese lunch at a local restaurant and visit a traditional Hmong house to learn about local architecture, customs and daily life.
Share dinner with locals at a Ta Van homestay

In the afternoon, walk past rice terraces and small streams to Ta Van, home to Hmong and Giay communities. Depending on the season, you may see farmers planting or harvesting rice. At the homestay in Ta Van or Hau Thao, take a warm shower and relax, then enjoy a traditional home-cooked dinner with your host family and share local "happy water" (rice wine).
Walk through bamboo forest to Giang Ta Chai Waterfall

On day two, start with local coffee or tea and breakfast at the homestay, then walk through bamboo forest and rice terraces to Giang Ta Chai Waterfall. If you like, you can swim in the cool water when conditions are safe. Continue through Red Dao areas to learn about their traditional way of life and clothing, have a final lunch, and return to Sapa by car from the main road. The tour ends around 2–4 PM.
※ Giang Ta Chai Waterfall may have no water in the dry season.
※ Resting or swimming at the waterfall depends on weather and water conditions.
