Surrounded by green mountains in Higashikagawa, Kagawa Prefecture, Shirotori Zoo is a zoo themed around "interaction." Unlike ordinary zoos where you only watch animals from outside their enclosures, here you can stroke and feed the animals up close. Peacocks and rabbits roam freely around the grounds, and you can relax with deer, goats, sheep and llamas in the open square. The animal show, where animals perform tricks they practice every day, is also popular.

At Shirotori Zoo, many animals are kept without cages. Peacocks and rabbits stroll freely around the parking lot and the zoo, and depending on the season, baby goats run energetically around the grounds.

At the Animal Searching Square, deer, goats, sheep, turkeys, mouflons and llamas roam freely, so you can interact with them in a relaxed setting. You can also feed large animals such as elephants and giraffes with snacks bought in the zoo.

At the Doggy Square, a wide range of rare and familiar breeds welcome you, including Chihuahuas, pugs, white shepherds, white golden retrievers, dachshunds, poodles and Pomeranians.

The animal show held on the zoo's second stage is also popular. Animals show off tricks they practice daily, such as jumping through a flaming hoop, the balancing "ball bridge," ring toss and walking on steel bars. Animals other than dogs may appear too.
※ Pets are not allowed on weekends and holidays.
