Highlights
This 8-day private tour takes you around Egypt, from Cairo and Alexandria to the Nile between Aswan and Luxor and Hurghada on the Red Sea. After visiting the Giza Pyramids, the Egyptian Museum, and the catacombs and Qaitbay Citadel in Alexandria, fly to Aswan and spend 3 nights on a 5-star Nile cruise. Visit Abu Simbel, the temples of Kom Ombo and Edfu, enjoy a sunrise hot air balloon ride in Luxor and the Valley of the Kings, and finish with an island boat trip in Hurghada. Accommodation, flights, private transport and the balloon ride are included, while entrance fees are paid separately.
Program
Days 1–2: From the Giza Pyramids
to Mediterranean Alexandria
After an early morning pickup from your hotel in Cairo or Giza, explore the Giza Pyramids and the Great Sphinx. Enjoy a traditional Egyptian lunch at a local restaurant, then visit the Egyptian Museum, home to thousands of treasures including royal mummies and Tutankhamun's artifacts, before checking in to a 5-star hotel in Cairo.
On day 2, travel to Alexandria to visit the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa with their mix of Egyptian, Greek and Roman styles, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina built to honor the ancient library, and the Qaitbay Citadel on the Mediterranean coast, then return to Cairo for the night.
Days 3–4: Board your Nile cruise in Aswan and visit Abu Simbel
Fly to Aswan and visit a colorful Nubian village, then take a motorboat to Philae Island to explore the Temple of Philae dedicated to Isis. Afterward, board your 5-star Nile cruise for lunch and relaxation.
On day 4, set off early on a small-group trip to Abu Simbel to explore the rock-cut temples of Ramesses II and Queen Nefertari. Return to the cruise for lunch, then sail to Kom Ombo to visit the unique double temple dedicated to Sobek and Horus.
Days 5–6: Edfu Temple and a hot air balloon ride in Luxor
On day 5, ride a horse-drawn carriage to the well-preserved Temple of Horus at Edfu, then sail on to Luxor.
On day 6, watch the sunrise from a hot air balloon over Luxor. After checking out, explore the West Bank, including the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon, as well as Karnak Temple, then transfer to Hurghada for the night.
Days 7–8: Relax on the Red Sea and return to Cairo
On day 7, take a boat trip to Orange Bay or Paradise Island to swim, snorkel or relax on the beach before returning to your hotel in the afternoon. On day 8, check out after breakfast and fly back to Cairo, where your driver will take you to your hotel in Cairo or Giza.
