Explore the Valley of the Kings on the West Bank

Head to the Theban Necropolis on the West Bank of the Nile and visit the Valley of the Kings, where tombs from several dynasties lie. Tour the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari and make a short stop at the Colossi of Memnon, two statues depicting Amenhotep III gazing over the Nile.

Visit Karnak and Luxor Temples after lunch

After lunch, cross to the East Bank to admire the courtyard of Luxor Temple and the granite statues of Ramesses II. Then travel by bus or horse-drawn carriage to Karnak Temple, a complex built over many eras.

At Karnak, start at the Avenue of Sphinxes and see the Unfinished Pylon, the Hypostyle Hall with its 134 massive columns, the obelisks of Queen Hatshepsut and Thutmose III, the Great Temple of Amun decorated with lotus and papyrus motifs, the granite scarab of Amenhotep III and the Sacred Lake.

Fly back to your hotel in Cairo

After the tour, transfer to Luxor's domestic airport for your flight to Cairo. On arrival in Cairo, a local representative meets you and takes you back to your hotel by private vehicle.
