The show takes place at the 1,800 m² immersive YANYUE Theater in the West Bund Dream Center. The 10-meter-high venue features 360-degree panoramic screens, hologram projections, aerial wire rigs and digital water curtain effects.

Watch a 90-minute show in seven acts

The show unfolds in seven acts: a grand opening depicting ancient Shanghai, an aerial dance from the Dunhuang Silk Road, the refined literati culture of the Song Dynasty (tea ceremony, incense, flowers and painting), a romantic water-sleeve dance, Peking opera excerpts, live performances on traditional Chinese instruments, and a glamorous qipao show from 1930s Shanghai.

A new scene for every course

Following the "one dish, one performance" concept, every course of the Chinese banquet is paired with a dedicated stage scene. The set menu includes signature dishes such as Buddha Jumps Over the Wall and local braised pork belly (hong shao rou), and the dinner schedule and dish introductions are provided in multiple languages.

Interact with the performers up close

Performers move among the seats to interact with guests, and front-row guests take part in a hand-washing and tea-serving ritual before the show. After the show, you can take a group photo with the entire cast, and you can add Hanfu costumes and makeup as a paid option for period-style photos.
