This tour was an absolute highlight of our trip! The itinerary was well-paced and covered breathtaking sights, from the stunning lakes to the unforgettable experience of the Columbia Icefield and Glacier Skywalk. A special shoutout to Kamal, who was truly an outstanding guide and driver. He was incredibly informative, constantly keeping us entertained and engaged with fascinating trivia and local stories throughout the entire drive, not just at the stops. On top of that, he is an exceptionally careful and smooth driver on the mountain roads, making our whole group feel safe and comfortable the entire time. Kamal’s warmth, humor, and attentiveness made the day unforgettable—highly recommended!

der Trip war super. die Erfahrung und die Sehenswürdigkeiten einfach top. der Guide war sehr freundlich, höflich und hat sich Mühe gegeben. die Gruppe war super, wir kamen in sehr vielen Gesprächen und sind als Gruppe unterwegs gewesen. leider stimmte etwas mit dem Bus oder mit dem Fahrstil nicht (ob er über die Sicherheitslinien gefahren ist?). der Bus war die ganze Fahrt über am vibrieren oder schütteln. mir ist ziemlich übel geworden, womit ich bisher keine Probleme hatte. Zudem hatte ich andere Erwartungen an die Tour. Ich hatte mir erhofft, dass mehr Informationen, Geschichten und Fakten den langen Weg über erzählt werden. stattdessen war es eine sehr lange, stille Fahrt. Auserdem sah ich es als selbstverständlich, dass sich der Tourguide zu Beginn für alle einmal vorstellt und einen groben Plan weitergibt. das war leider nicht der Fall. alles in allem hatte ich dennoch ein tolles Erlebnis!

Highlights

Departing from Banff, Canmore or Calgary, this small-group tour of up to 14 people explores the Canadian Rockies along the Icefields Parkway in one day. Stop at the Castle Mountain viewpoint, Crowfoot Glacier, Bow Lake and Peyto Lake, then see the Athabasca Glacier up close at the Columbia Icefield. If you wish, you can also experience the glass-floored Columbia Icefield Skywalk and glacier activities (tickets not included). There is also a coffee break at Saskatchewan Crossing.

Program

Pass Castle Mountain and Crowfoot Glacier
on the way to Bow Lake

Get picked up at your booked location in Banff, Canmore or Calgary and start your journey with a scenic drive. Pause at the Castle Mountain viewpoint for a close-up view of Castle Mountain, then stop at the Crowfoot Glacier viewpoint (about 10 minutes).

Next, spend about 30 minutes at Bow Lake, the source of the Bow River, enjoying the lake and surrounding mountain scenery.

Relax at Peyto Lake
and Saskatchewan Crossing

Spend about 45 minutes at Peyto Lake enjoying the view. Take a 20-minute coffee break at Saskatchewan Crossing and make a short stop at the Weeping Wall viewpoint.

Meet the Athabasca Glacier
at the Columbia Icefield

Arrive at the Columbia Icefield and stay for about 3 hours. See the Athabasca Glacier while your guide explains its history and significance, and if you wish, experience the glass-floored Columbia Icefield Skywalk and glacier activities (tickets not included).

※ Columbia Icefield and Skywalk activity tickets are not included and must be purchased separately.
※ The Columbia Icefield is closed in winter (mid-October to early May). During this period, the tour stops at Lake Louise (about 45 minutes) and Johnston Canyon (about 60 minutes) instead.
※ Wildlife lives in its natural habitat, so sightings are not guaranteed.
