I would have loved a more thorough walk through on the rocks area, though the guide was so informative and a great resource for tips

Highlights

Walk through Sydney's story, from its very beginnings to the vibrant city it is today. Starting at Hyde Park, we'll journey through historic landmarks and hidden laneways in Sydney's CBD, ending in The Rocks. Join your guide for approximately 2.5 hours as you uncover tales of colonial history, convicts, pioneers, and Indigenous stories, revealing a different side of Sydney you might otherwise miss.

Program

Start in Hyde Park and walk through Sydney's history

Meet your guide at the Archibald Memorial Fountain in Hyde Park (Hyde Park), the heart of Sydney, and begin your approximately 2.5-hour walking tour. After hearing about Australia's early colonial history, we'll explore Sydney's city center to learn how the city was formed and has evolved.

We'll visit not only famous landmarks but also hidden laneways and historic sites that travelers might easily overlook when exploring alone. Discover the traces of the past within the modern Sydney landscape as you listen to stories of events and people connected to each location, explained by your guide.

Discover the origins of Sydney in the laneways of The Rocks

The tour continues to The Rocks (The Rocks), known as the birthplace of modern Sydney. Walk through cobblestone streets, past old pubs and historic buildings, and explore the stories of the convicts and pioneers who lived in early Sydney.

You'll also learn about the Indigenous history of the area and how the city has transformed since European settlement. This small-group tour, with a maximum of 16 participants, allows you to hear the guide's explanations up close and delve deeply into Sydney's history.
