Enjoy art and whisky in Oyamazaki near Kyoto on this walking tour. At the Asahi Group Oyamazaki Villa Museum of Art, you can admire must-see masterpieces such as Monet's Water Lilies series, and leisurely enjoy the architecture and garden walks that combine the 100-year-old main building with the new building designed by Tadao Ando. Afterwards, move to the Suntory Yamazaki Whisky Museum to see the exhibition, shop at the gift shop, and taste three types of whisky at the tasting lounge (for a fee). KTIC Friends, an English-speaking staff member at the Kyoto Tourist Information Center, will accompany you on this course, making it easy for first-time visitors.

An Art Walk Starting in Oyamazaki
This tour is a small group walking tour, not a private tour, so you can efficiently explore two of Oyamazaki's representative spots with other participants. First, after meeting KTIC Friends (English-speaking staff member belonging to the Kyoto Tourist Information Center) at Hankyu Oyamazaki Station, walk to the Asahi Group Oyamazaki Villa Museum of Art. You can enjoy various exhibitions based on a collection of approximately 1,000 items, including ceramics, lacquerware, dyeing, Japanese painting, Western painting, and modern sculpture, and Monet's Water Lilies series is a highlight that you shouldn't miss.
The sense of space created by the main building (over 100 years old) and the new building designed by Tadao Ando is also special, so you can enjoy both appreciating the works and taking a walk in the garden.
Afterwards, move to the Suntory Yamazaki Whisky Museum to learn about the history and stories of whisky through exhibitions and panels, and shop for souvenirs at the gift shop. You can order and taste three types of whisky at the tasting lounge (additional charge), and the last order for the lounge is 16:30. For reference, this tour does not include a tour of the distillation process and focuses on visiting the museum. Comfortable clothes and shoes are recommended as the walking course includes sections that climb mountain paths.
