The Golden Empire of the Ancient Andes Comes to Tokyo
The CREVIA Machu Picchu Exhibition, where approximately 130 precious cultural properties officially certified by the Peruvian government are unveiled for the first time in Japan, is opening. As a special feature on the ancient Andes being presented after 13 years since the 'Inca Empire Exhibition' in 2012, visitors are invited to Machu Picchu, the 'City in the Sky,' with a further upgraded scale and production.
This exhibition is a special touring exhibition that brings together approximately 130 cultural properties, including gold ornaments, ritual tools, and pottery specially loaned from the Larco Museum, a world-renowned museum in Lima, Peru. The main artifacts, including the first overseas unveiling of gold decorations excavated from royal tombs and ritual tools used in temple rituals, will vividly convey the aesthetics and technological prowess of the brilliant ancient Andean civilization.
In the center of the exhibition hall, there is an immersive experience space in the city of Machu Picchu in the sky, realized with the latest digital technology. The mysterious city built on a steep mountain ridge is reproduced with light, sound, and large projections, giving you the sensation of walking into the actual ruins. In addition, with a storytelling structure that follows the grand narrative of Ai-Apaec, the hero of Andean mythology, it provides an experience as if you are traveling in a world of stories beyond simply seeing artifacts.
This CREVIA Machu Picchu Exhibition is the second project in the historical exhibition series presented by NEON, which planned the Ramses the Great exhibition. It is a popular exhibition that has already fascinated a total of more than 540,000 visitors in 4 cities around the world, and it is an opportunity that those interested in ancient civilizations, history, art, and digital production will not want to miss!
Embark on a new intellectual exploration in Tokyo at this experiential cultural exhibition where you can discover Machu Picchu and ancient Andean civilizations, which are still full of mysteries, on an overwhelming scale and immersive production.
