More than just a museum
A space to think about ‘contemporaneity’
Introducing the newly opened Ueshima Museum in Shibuya, Tokyo in June 2024.
Beyond simply being an art museum that exhibits art, the Ueshima Museum's founding philosophy is to contemplate contemporaneity by thinking about the past, present, and future. With art as its theme, it exhibits selected works from among approximately 650 contemporary art pieces by artists from Japan and abroad. Visit the Ueshima Museum to experience the harmony between art and society.
Transcending countries, regions and eras
Exhibition at Ueshima Museum
Appreciate various expressions and stories through the works of artists gathered in one place regardless of country, region, or era. The Ueshima Museum is organized with different perspectives from the basement level to the 5th floor, so we recommend slowly walking around all the spaces and savoring the works.
Ueshima Museum requires advance reservations, so you cannot enter without purchasing a ticket in advance. Please purchase a ticket for the date you wish to visit.
