BESTEchizen Matsushima Aquarium was more fun than I expected 🐠✨ It was the perfect spot for families and couples! What was especially impressive was the penguin stroll time 🐧💓 They were so cute walking leisurely in front of us that we took lots of photos 📸 lol. Also, in the "touch and feel corner" we were able to actually touch starfish and sea cucumbers, which the kids were really excited about! 🧒👧 The museum isn't that big, but you can take your time looking around, and the location with a great view of the ocean is amazing. We purchased our tickets in advance through WAUG, which made it very convenient as we were able to enter smoothly on the day. This is a recommended aquarium that you should definitely stop by during your trip to Fukui.

Located right in front of the Fukui Sea, Echizen Matsushima Aquarium lets you encounter diverse and adorable marine creatures. From special dolphin and penguin events to feeding experiences and various fish displayed in different spaces, your inner child will be stimulated!

Exciting Dolphin Show!
Watch the dynamic and joyful dolphin show featuring two parent dolphins and their offspring. As the show begins, the dolphins lie down on the stage near the audience to greet you. You can see the dolphins within touching distance. Please do not touch the dolphins or stand up from your seat to avoid startling them!
In the dolphin show, you can see magnificent jumps where the 300kg dolphins fly into the air. Kicking a beach ball floating in the air with their tails and the high splash of water at the moment of landing are also great sights to see. If you want to watch the dolphin show, please check the schedule for the correct dates!
Waddling Penguin Walk Time
The penguin walk is as popular as the dolphin show. Twice a day, you can watch the penguins walk in front of you for 15 minutes. Because they walk so close, you can see the gestures of various types of penguin friends.

Interact by Feeding
Get to know various animals by feeding them here! You can feed sea turtles, musk turtles, and various fish. In the summer, you can feed the fish in the pool and enter the pool with the fish.
The most popular experience is feeding the sea turtles. You can feed the sea turtles, who love seaweed, with a food called 'Sosongchae'. Hold the food with gold tongs and feed them directly! Food is available for 100 yen per cup.
