Moiwa Ropeway and Morris Car

The most common way to reach the summit of Mt. Moiwa is to take the Sapporo Mt. Moiwa Ropeway from Moiwa Sanroku Station to Moiwa Chuhuku Station, and then transfer to the Morris Car, a mini cable car, to reach Moiwa Sancho Station. Both operate approximately every 15 minutes.

The Moiwa Ropeway ride takes about 1 minute, and the Morris Car takes about 2 minutes. You can reach the summit in a short amount of time.


How to get to Moiwa Sanroku Station

If you are coming from JR Sapporo Station, take the Sapporo Municipal Subway Namboku Line to Odori Station, then transfer to the Sapporo Streetcar and get off at the Ropeway Iriguchi stop. From there, take the free shuttle bus, which takes about 5 minutes and runs every 15 minutes.

If you are driving, you cannot reach the summit by car, so use the Moiwa Sanroku Station parking lot or the Moiwayama Tourist Motor Road parking lot, which is located past Moiwa Chuhuku Station and requires a fee.

Moimoi no Omise
After enjoying the spectacular view of Sapporo for about 5 minutes, stop by 'Moimoi no Omise', a specialty product corner that you'll see as soon as you get off at Moiwa Chuhuku Station, before transferring to the Morris Car. There is no souvenir shop at the summit, so we recommend buying souvenirs here. In addition to popular Hokkaido sweets, they also sell Iwai Moiwa-san limited edition ramen and original products featuring 'Morris', the mascot character of Mt. Moiwa. If you think it will be luggage while enjoying the view, you can take a look before going and buy it later.

Small Shrine and Moiwa Primeval Forest
The Morris Car boarding area is on the right, and if you go inside to the left, you can go outside. If you go outside, there is a small shrine on the left, and there is a box where you can draw a fortune for 100 yen. Behind it is a wonderful primeval forest. Visiting the Moiwa Primeval Forest, which is designated as a natural monument, and feeling the rich nature is also an attraction of Mt. Moiwa.
