BESTThe garden is very large and peaceful. It is well-maintained. There is a place selling old-fashioned dango in the garden, and it is a beautiful place where local people come to take wedding photos and model magazine shoots.

Sankeien Garden, a traditional Japanese garden built in 1906
Sankeien Garden is a Japanese-style garden in Honmokusannotani, Naka-ku, Yokohama, created by Tomitaro Hara (Sankei), a businessman and master of tea ceremony. The building houses 17 historical buildings, including 10 buildings designated as important cultural properties of Japan and 3 buildings designated as tangible cultural properties of Yokohama.
The garden is designed to harmonize with the natural terrain and features gentle hills, ponds, and a variety of plants. The Sankei Memorial Hall in the garden houses materials and artworks related to Sankeien and Tomitaro Hara. New exhibitions are rotated about once a month, and the museum also has a traditional tea room where you can enjoy matcha and a shop selling Japanese goods and sweets.

Explore Sankeien Garden, one of Japan's three major gardens
Located in Yokohama, near Tokyo, is the famous 'Sankeien Garden,' one of Japan's three major gardens. Sankeien Garden is a private garden created by Hara Sankei of Yokohama, who accumulated wealth through trade, from the end of the Meiji era to the Taisho era. The size of the garden is approximately 175,000 square meters, which is a very large scale for a private garden.
The inner garden is used by Sankei as a private garden, and the outer garden has been open to the public free of charge since 1906, when the garden was completed, and has become a resting place for Yokohama citizens. Later, it was severely damaged by the Great Earthquake and World War II, but it was restored to its current state through restoration work in 1958 and was designated as a scenic spot in Japan in 2007.
Beautiful in all four seasons

Sankeien Garden offers different scenery in each of the four seasons, and you can observe various flowers throughout the year. Cherry blossoms and azaleas bloom in spring, lush green leaves sprout everywhere in summer, the leaves turn red in autumn, and the scenery of snow piling up in winter is very beautiful. Visit Sankeien Garden, which boasts different charms in each season, and discover beautiful scenery.
Important Cultural Property Rinshunkaku

Sankeien consists of two gardens: the outer garden, which was opened to the public in 1906, and the inner garden, which Hara Sankei used as a private garden. Compared to the open outer garden where you can enjoy flowers and trees in all seasons against the backdrop of the three-storied pagoda relocated from Kyoto Tomyoji Temple on the hill, the inner garden is characterized by a delicate landscape with old buildings such as tea rooms placed everywhere.
Among them, Rinshunkaku, which is said to have been built as a villa for the Kishu Tokugawa family in the early Edo period around the mid-17th century, is one of the most representative buildings of Sankeien along with the three-storied pagoda and is also an important cultural property.
Sankei Memorial Hall

Hara Sankei was a person who made great contributions to the protection and development of Japanese culture and art, such as the construction and opening of Sankeien, the collection of old art, and support for young artists, based on the wealth he gained through the business of holding rituals and raw silk trade. The Sankei Memorial Hall is a facility that exhibits and introduces these achievements and related materials and works of art, and was built in 1989 through the design of architect Hiroshi Oe (1913-1989).
There is also a tea room where you can receive an authentic tea ceremony experience with an entrance ceremony using comfortable tables and chairs, Bototei, and a museum shop, so there are various things to see and enjoy.
