The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA)

The Museum of Modern Art in New York was first built by four founders in 1929. From 1880s innovative European art to today, it showcases the best contemporary visual culture, encompassing traditional media, film, and industrial design. 

This must-visit art museum in New York offers unique modern and contemporary artworks through its collection. Take advantage of the 6th floor of the MoMA art gallery to see the artwork of Picasso and Van Gogh. Plus, in 2019, a total of 1,000 square feet were renovated and changed into a new space. 

Handy tips for visiting MoMA

The Museum of Modern Art in New York is open daily from 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM; the hours extend till 7:00 PM on Saturdays. The morning tends to be the busiest time to visit MoMA. Likewise, we recommend visiting during the afternoon to visit leisurely. Plus, you can enter The Museum of Modern Art by entering Rockefeller Building on 53rd Street, which is much easier to access. The Museum of Modern Art is close to 6th Avenue.

Try starting from the 5th floor

To gain a chronological appreciation of artworks at MoMA, start your tour from the 5th floor. This floor has the most number of works from the 1880s to the 1940s and features works by the likes of Van Gogh and Monet.

When you ascend to the 4th floor, you'll then discover works from the 1940s to the 70's. The 3rd floor houses experimental works that are easily classified as modern art. Here you'll find Jeff Koons's Pink Panther! On the 2nd floor, you'll find works from the 70s to the present. In addition, various collections are on display every month and every quarter.

One of the reasons why you should visit MoMA? It’s a great place where you can find various artists from across the world — over 12,895 of them! See the works of Jeff Koons, Michel Majerus, Martin Kippenberger, Tom Wesselmann, and Claes Oldenburg. You can also see the works of Robert Delaunay and Florine Stettheimer.

If you come to MoMA, you must go to Cafe2
